Kindly note BLS handles only short term visa applications (for visits of less than 90 days in a period of 180 days). Please contact the Embassy of Spain (http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Embajadas/Yakarta/es/Paginas/inicio.aspx) to enquire about other visas.

Visa Fees

The visa fee will be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following categories:

  • Children under six years;
  • Family members of citizens of the European Union (spouse, descendants up to 21 years, dependent parents) travelling together with the citizen of the European Union.

Please Note:

  • Consular fee for visa applications submitted by citizens of countries that had signed agreements with the European Union on the facilitation on the issuance of visas (Ukraine, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Moldova, Serbia): IDR 581.000 (or IDR 1.075.300 if the application is submitted 3 days before the departure date)
  • The applicable visa fee is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change.
  • All fees are non-refundable.
  • There is a BLS Service Fees of IDR 280.000 levied per application over and above the visa fees. Only children under six years old will be waived from this BLS Service Fee.
  • Visa fee, BLS Service Fees, Value Added Service fee should be paid in cash only

General Requirements

"CHECKLIST"

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR BUSINESS VISA:

Applications should be filed in the following order:

1. “Application for Schengen visa” form (fully completed, dated and signed).

In case of underage applicants, the “Application for Schengen visa” form must be signed by both parents or legal guardian.

2. Passport (original):

  • Valid at least 3 months beyond the intended stay in the Schengen area.
  • Issued within the last 10 years.
  • Containing at least 2 blank pages.
  • Copy of the passport (only the page with the personal data).
  • Copy of prior Schengen VISAs.

3. Photocopy of applicants identity card (KTP for Indonesian nationality). Indonesian nationals must also provide a photocopy of the Family Card (Kartu Keluarga).

4. Itinerary: A summary by the applicant stating: -

Trip dates and accommodation for each day. -

Entries and exit from each Schengen country (if visiting others than Spain), indicating the amount of days in each country and total amount of days spent in the Schengen area.

5. Means of transport:

  • Proof of a round-trip airplane reservation.
  • Proof of transport reservation within Spain and/or between Schengen countries (bus, train, flight tickets, car rental, etc.).

Remarks: Fake or cancelled flight booking can entail refusal of the visa. Do not buy the ticket before the visa is issued. The Embassy of Spain will not take any responsibility related to the flight ticket.

6. Medical Travel Insurance:

  • Travel insurance certificate issued by insurance company as per EU guidelines:
  • Name of beneficiary (according to passport), validity, and schedule of benefit and amount covered.
  • Travel insurance must cover for medical and repatriation expenses up to at least €30,000. It must be valid for the entire Schengen Area.

7. Business, work trips and conferences

  • Invitation letter in Spanish from the host company or authority in Spain, stating purpose, date and relation with the invited company/person. The invitation must be signed and give contact details of the inviting company/person.
  • Original letter of the applicant’s employer confirming purpose of trip, dates, relation with the Spanish company and applicant’s employment status. List of participants and mention of sponsorship of the trip if applicable.
  • In the case of conferences or trade fairs, proof of the applicant’s registration and/or participation must be provided.

8. Employment letter, stating the monthly or annual salary, time serving at the company, name and signature of the person issuing the letter and other useful details. If the employer is sponsoring the trip, specific mention to it is required.

  • In case of self-employment (business owner, entrepreneur, freelance, etc.): proof of business registration and/or commercial license.
  • Pensioner/retired applicants should provide proof of pension and/or any other economic means they may have.
  • If student, letter from the school/university confirming current attendance (enrolment letter not accepted).

Proof of financial means:

  • Original (signed and stamped) bank statements which include the previous 3 months to the visa application date. All applicants must present their own bank statements, regardless of who is sponsoring their trip.
    If the applicant does not have a bank account, a letter from the applicant stating this circumstance must be attached, in English or Spanish language.
  • Original Bank Certificate stamped and signed by bank.
  • Proof of financial mean that cover a minimum of 118 Euros per day per person (check rate currency), with an absolute minimum balance of 1.065 Euros reflected on the bank statement regardless of the number of days intended to stay.
  • If the trip is sponsored by a relative, proof of family relationship (KARTA KELUARGA), sponsor’s proof of employment and economic means and sponsorship letter
  • . If the trip is sponsored by the employer, the employment letter must state so. Proof of business registration, commercial license and employer’s bank statements can be requested at any time while considering the visa application.

10. Applicant under 18 years old:

  • Parental consent for the minor traveling:
    • If both parents are traveling with the minor (family trip) the consent is implied if the family applies and travels together (proof of which must be provided). If the family is travelling together but not applying for a visa at once, copy of the visas already issued and notarized letter stating their intend to travel together signed by both parents translated into English.
    • If only one parent or neither is traveling, a notarized and translated authorization is required.
    • If one parent has sole custody, provide apostilled and translated proof. In the event that one of the parents is deceased, a duly apostille and translated into English death certificate must be provided.
  • Apostille birth certificate of the minor translated into English.
  • Photocopies of the parents’ passports (personal data page). If the passport names do not match the birth certificate’s names of the parents, apostled and translated into English proof of name and surname changes must be produced.
  • Application form must be signed by both parents (or just one if sole custody is proved). In the event that one of the parents is unable to sign the visa application, additional documents could be required.
  • Visa fee is waived for children under 6 years old. Visa fee for children between 6 and 12 years old is reduced 50 %.

11. If Application is submitted by a Representative please include a power of attorney letter and a copy of the representative’s ID or passport.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR NON-NATIONALS OF INDONESIA OR TIMOR LESTE:

Applicants who are not nationals of Indonesia or Timor Leste must provide proof of their legal and effective residence in either country for at least the last 6 months.

Note: The residence permit or KITAS must be valid for at least 3 months after the intended departure date from the Schengen area.

FAMILY MEMBER OF AN EU OR EEA CITIZEN

Family members of citizens of the European Union, European Economic Area (EEA) States and Switzerland are entitled to obtain a visa on a preferential basis and free of charge, provided that they accompany the citizen of the Union, or of the EEA State or Switzerland or are going to join him/her in Spain.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The above is not an exhaustive list of documentation. Applicants can be requested to submit additional documents or may be called for an interview (if required) by the Embassy.

As per Schengen regulations, visa fee is non-refundable.

All original documents must always be accompanied by one photocopy of the same.

To support sustainability efforts, applicants are kindly encouraged to avoid submitting unnecessary documents and to print double-sided whenever possible.

SCHENGEN VISA APRIL 2025

A Schengen visa is an entry permit for non-EU nationals to make a short, temporary visit of up to 90 days in any 180-day period to a country in the Schengen area.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

You must lodge your application for a Schengen visa at the consulate of the country you intend to visit.

  • Visiting more than 1 Schengen countries: apply at the consulate of the country where you will spend the longest time.
  • Visiting several Schengen countries (for stays of equal length): apply at the consulate of the first country you will visit.

As a general rule, you must apply for a Schengen visa at the consulate with territorial responsibility for the country where you are legally resident.

Photo Specifications

Applicants, submit your Application form with the new photo format, as explained below:

General

  • The photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).
  • Use plain White-colored background.
  • The photo must be no more than 6-months old.
  • Not tilted picture (portrait style) showing both edges of face clearly.
  • Close up of the head and top of the shoulders so that the face takes up 70–80% of the photograph.
  • Photo in sharp focus and clear.

Photo Size

The photo for each visa applicant submitted must measure:

  • 35 mm x 45 mm with the head centered in the frame.
  • The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure about 30 mm

Photo Appearance

  • The photograph must be a full-face front view in which the visa applicant is facing the camera directly.
  • The face should cover about 70-80 percent of the photo area.
  • The photograph must be in color and have only a white or light background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted.
  • In general, the applicant's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears be exposed
  • Sunglasses or other wear, which detracts from the face, are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (an eye patch, for example).
  • A photograph depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.

Please follow these instructions carefully. If the photograph presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete.

The processing time of the visa applications is 15 working days. If the appointed day to collect the passport falls in weekend or public holiday, will be given appointment to pick up the previous business day. The processing time can be delayed until 30 or 60 days in special cases.

If the Embassy requires additional documents, the period to present the documents is 10 days.

BLS work is primarily administrative in nature; we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how long it will take to process your application, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy of Spain in Jakarta.

The processing time of the visa applications of Nationals of the following countries will be as minimum 15 days:
